Engineering Institute of Technology

With programs designed by an international body of industry experts, the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is one of the only institutes in the world that specialises in engineering. Its graduating students leave the university with cutting-edge skills valued by employers around the world.

Students can study for their bachelor's and master's degrees either online or on-campus in Australia. EIT's short courses, vocational education programs, undergraduate and graduate certificates, and doctoral engineering programs are available exclusively online.

With some programs recognised under the engineering accords, EIT's vocational programs and higher education degrees are registered and accredited by the Australian Government. The university boasts a global presence with students from over 140 countries and has trained over half a million engineers, technicians, and technologists globally over the last 30 years.

EIT's online and on-campus programs are delivered via a unique methodology that makes use of live and interactive webinars, an international pool of expert lecturers, dedicated learning support officers, and state-of-the-art technologies such as hands-on workshops, remote laboratories, and simulation software.

EIT compliments its unique teaching methodology with hands-on workshops in the form of remote and virtual labs. While their remote labs are contextualised within the industry and are more comprehensive than most traditional classroom-based programs, hands-on workshops provide students with additional applied knowledge.

Whether a student chooses to study online or on-campus, EIT's supportive blended learning model and small class sizes allow learners to advance their technical knowledge and remain engaged in their studies while forming global networks and balancing life and work commitments.

What's new

What's new

EIT bachelor's and master's degrees require students to have had 240 hours of paid or unpaid professional work-integrated learning. This includes internships (unpaid or paid), networking activities, site visits, and helping with industry projects.

To aid on-campus students with no industry experience through the process of application for work- integrated learning, EIT offers assistance with their resume development, interview skills, presentation skills, and with getting in touch with its industry partners.

Students have the opportunity to engage with employees and are exposed to work culture, when taking up internships. They learn about official communication, more about engineering disciplines, gain practical insights and aptitude as they work on projects from planning to completion.

Teaching quality

Teaching quality

EIT's lecturers are subject experts with applied knowledge and are highly experienced engineers. They pass on their knowledge to students to help them tackle challenges in the workplace. EIT takes care to source the best lecturers from around the world. The lecturers are also available to guide students through classroom contact hours, phone, Skype, or email for assistance.

EIT's small class sizes allow students to build rapport with their classmates as well as their lecturers, and seek clarity by asking questions when needed.

Course coordinators at EIT offer students academic guidance and support throughout their study journey. Students can also take advantage of support with mathematics and the English language in order to improve their speaking and writing skills.

Students are encouraged to visit the EIT website for more information on teaching quality.

Student support

Student support

Learning support officers (LSOs) offer guidance to EIT students during their study. Students taking up higher education have one committed LSO for every unit of study for higher education programs.

Students who opt for a vocational graduate certificate, professional certificate, diploma, or advanced diploma, can avail assistance from one dedicated person throughout their period at EIT.

EIT's student services team offers on-campus students a supportive learning environment and encourages students to share their personal support needs before the start of their program or any time during. EIT also provides students referrals to external services for support where required.

EIT conducts orientation every semester for its new students to give them the opportunity to settle into student life, meet other students, explore the campus, and discover the range of student services on offer.
