In light of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak in Australia and globally, the chief aim of Western Sydney University International College is to safeguard the wellbeing and health of all students, staff, and members of the wider community. The college has put into place a number of policies and processes to support this goal and is committed to flexibly adapting to novel circumstances.

The International College has transformed its standard educational model to deliver high-quality, online classes for all existing and new students. Students at the college will receive all the information they need to continue accessing their program's content via specialist online learning platforms.

Each week the Student Services team is calling each student to check in with them. Student Services is also available for issues like deferring or attendance issues, academic support, welfare, and counselling.

As these challenging times continue, the International College continues to identify the best ways to support the student body and ensure that everyone at the college is able to achieve their academic potential. Students can submit queries to the college 24/7, and a new system for booking phone or video appointments with student and academic support staff is now online.

For new students at the International College, their journey to university begins with an excellent standard of internationally recognised courses which include both Foundation Studies and Diploma courses. Students will successfully complete the pathway program and be able to progress directly to a Western Sydney University degree. The following programs are available at the International College:

Foundation Studies programs – these are courses designed to facilitate university entry, for international students who have completed Australian Year 11 secondary, or equivalent.

• Business
• Health Science and Nursing
• Science

Diploma programs – completing one of the below diploma courses will entitle the successful student to direct entry into the second year of a corresponding bachelor's degree program.

• Arts
• Business
• Engineering
• Information and Communications Technology

Foundation Studies and Diploma programs can range from two to three terms in length (eight to twelve months). A student's ideal course length will depend on their previous academic qualifications and their level of English language proficiency.

English Programs – these globally recognised English language courses are excellent for international students at every level of capability and will equip learners with the skills they need to excel in personal, professional, and academic English.

The International College is committed to making its courses and programs as accessible as possible to students, while maintaining an excellent standard of quality. Successful entry into a pathway course depends on a number of factors and may involve additional criteria according to the program that is being applied to. Prospective students should consult the specific profile of their chosen course before proceeding with their application.

The International College accepts certificates of completion or transcripts from a number of English tests for standard entry, including:

• IELTS Indicator
• TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition
• Duolingo

In addition to the standard application form, applicants will need to accompany their application with documentary evidence of their academic qualifications, including reports and exam certificates.

• Students must meet direct entry into the Foundation or Diploma course in term one, 2021.
• Students must demonstrate achieving academic results of 75 per cent for qualifications they have used to apply for entry.
• A personal written statement of 500 words or less addressing the question- How will a degree at Western Sydney University help your career prospects in the future?

• Western Wisdom Merit based Scholarships are limited (five available for term one 2021).
• Closing date for applications is 29^th January 2021.
• Academic Director/College Principal or delegate will make final assessment on candidates.
• Successful applicants will be contacted within a week from closing date and will need to accept the offer no later than 12^th February 2021.
• Western Wisdom Merit Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other bursary or scholarship.
• The International College reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

Western Way – AUD 5, 000 bursary

Eligibility Criteria:

• Students must meet direct entry into a Foundation or Diploma course in term one, 2021.
• Students must demonstrate achieving academic results of 75 per cent for qualifications they have used to apply for entry.
• Students must take a full-time study load.
• Students must have applied for the Western Wisdom Merit Scholarship.

Terms and conditions:

• Western Way bursaries are limited.
• The International College will conduct assessment on candidate's eligibility.
• Successful applicants will be contacted within a week from closing date (29^th February) and to accept the offer no later than 12^th February 2021.
• Western Way Bursary cannot be used in conjunction with any other bursary or scholarship.
