The University of Auckland Certificate in Foundation Studies course takes students between 6 to 12 months to complete, based on each student's academic background and level of English proficiency. The Foundation Studies programme at the University of Auckland International College in New Zealand offers an alternative pathway to students who did not meet university entry requirements or those who wish to upskill in academic English prior to undergraduate study.

Scholarships are offered to high achieving students who enter the University's Foundation Studies programme and to students who complete the Foundation programme and enrol in undergraduate study at the University of Auckland.

High Achiever Awards of up to NZD5000 are available for students who apply for the Foundation Studies programme and are able to demonstrate exceptional academic performance in their previous studies.

Upon successful completion of the Foundation programme and enrolling in undergraduate study at the University, the University of Auckland awards the top two students of each semester with a NZD5000 scholarship on their first year tuition fees.
